As a kid, I went through the usual collection of future professions: ballerina, college professor, nutritionist, architect, massage therapist, a server at McDonald's.
Most of the time I wanted to do none or all of them. One thing that remained consistent was a fascination with language and the art of crafting it. And great books started it all. I think we all remember the first time we read To Kill a Mockingbird and met heroes Atticus and Scout.
As I read that little book, I learned that words--while a thousand of them will buy you but one picture--pack enough power to change a culture, much less an industry, community or business. A career in writing seemed inevitable.
In May of 2006, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Shortly after, I moved from Texas to California to join Klemmer and Associates, Inc., a leadership and character development company that holds seminars all over the country and the world. I became the personal assistant of Brian Klemmer, CEO of Klemmer and Associates and author of the Wall Street Journal best-seller, The Compassionate Samurai.
During my time at K & A, I had the opportunity to be part of an organization that is truly committed to making the world a better place as well as work closely with a successful, best-selling author.
Very soon after joining the corporate world, I observed a common and ever-present challenge: in business and in life, there are just too many words and not enough time to get them all right. I saw even the most efficient organizations struggle to use the written word to their best advantage. I knew I could help and with that, Atticus Ink Editorial Services was born.
